SBB Half Fare Travelcard: a fully tax-exempt benefit

In Switzerland, the SBB Half Fare Travelcard offered by employers to their employees is tax-exempt.  According to the Swiss Federal Tax Administration, the reimbursement of Half Fare Travelcards is one of the benefits that do not need to be declared.

As a result, your company pays no social security contributions on this benefit, and your employee pays no tax on its value. This exemption makes it an advantageous solution for improving your employees’ purchasing power while optimizing your costs.
